You hear about it,
you read about it,
you watch it in the movies.
But you'll never understand it until it affects you.
It's one of the hardest things to grasp.
Yet, death is a fundamental element of life.
Old age; living to die.
One might sum up a life that way, but that wouldn't be a life.
Life is all about the details, realizing that we have so much to do before we go.
Remembering to let yourself be happy, or knowing that you can be so selfish.
You have to remember that people aren't forever.
Just when you're trying to understand letting go, you have to learn when to hold on.
As much as it may seem that we just live to grow old and shrivel up,
As much as the life cycle seems to be a realistic circle
where you come in this world, and you go out just the same
It's everything you do in between that counts.
Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It's the transition that's troublesome.
